Intro
By Christian Martin • Feb 17th, 2010 • Category: Featured, The StoryThis idea came to me one night while I sat in my room and pondered life. When it comes to life, there’s obviously a lot to think about. To say you know where you’ll be in five years is presumptuous and your prediction will likely turn out to be inaccurate; the world holds too many twists and turns for any individual to correctly guess what is going to happen.
If you’ve read the “About” section, you’ll notice that I hinted at the uncertainty of life. Yes, much of life is determined by the choices that you make; if you break it down, everything is a decision. Do you go out that one night? Do you live here or do you live there? Do you talk to this person? Each choice you make, no matter how small, will in someway determine how it all unfolds. But you knew all that. Multiple people have discussed and dissected this idea in a million different ways, and if you think about it, it’s pretty obvious.
What I’d like to do is take this element of unpredictability and apply it to the lives of four different people. This is a story about life, love, money, and everything else in between. These four people are all in the same stage of life; the “Sunday Hangover” phase of life, if you will (see “About”). Everything is uncertain, and the ending is up in the air.
As you read, you will immerse yourself into the lives of this group of friends. They’ll act as any group of friends would; there will be times when everything is going well and times when everything is going horribly. Each of them is a different character who will have defining attributes and tendencies. The chemistry between two characters will be different than the chemistry between two others. At the end of the day, however, they will be (mostly) one cohesive unit.
And, like anyone in this stage of life, they will have to make choices. But, you will be making choices for them. You might be a bit confused, but you’ll see what I mean very soon. Enjoy the ride.
